Glenn Dubin is an investor and philanthropist. He is Chairman of the Dubin Family Foundation and Principal of Dubin & Co. LP, a private investment firm based in New York. Glenn co-founded Highbridge Capital Management LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund that he grew into a diversified alternative asset management company with over $35 billion of capital under management. In 2009, Highbridge was acquired by JP Morgan Asset Management.
In 2012, Glenn partnered with a prominent group of global investors to acquire Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC, renaming it Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI”). CCI is now one of the world’s leading independent energy merchants.
The following year, Glenn founded Engineers Gate LP, a quantitative trading company committed to building a next generation operating and technology platform for systematic trading strategies.
Glenn has since expanded his focus to include investments in early and late-stage growth companies, providing strategic guidance and mentorship to their founders.
Glenn is a co-founder of the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that pioneered the application of investment principles to charitable giving. Started in 1988, Robin Hood is now the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York City, having invested more than $3 billion dollars in over 425 community partners that provide essential services such as food, housing, education, legal assistance and workforce development for low-income families.
Glenn is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System, where he and his wife, Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin, established the Dubin Breast Center, a leading institution for breast cancer research and clinical care. They received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Mount Sinai in 2013. Glenn also serves on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Museum of Modern Art. Glenn and Eva have signed The Giving Pledge, committing to donate 50% of their wealth to charity in their lifetimes.
Glenn is the first in his family to attend college. He graduated in 1978 with a B.A. in Economics from Stony Brook University, from where he received an honorary Doctor of Letters in 2012. A former Stony Brook Seawolves football player, Glenn made the largest private donation to an athletic department within the SUNY system to create the Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center and Stony Brook University’s Indoor Training Facility.
