Adding Rauschenberg and Richter at MoMA

Fifty years ago, when Robert Rauschenberg was experimenting with the relationship between photography and painting in New York, Gerhard Richter was doing the same thing in Düsseldorf, Germany. This week, the Museum of Modern Art announced two acquisitions by these artists — both paintings from 1963 — that illustrate their similar explorations.
